On 15 July the conference will be preceded by an ecch Case Writing Workshop led by Mark Jenkins and Stephen Carver of Cranfield School of Management. The workshop aims to provide scholars with tools to use their empirical research findings or publicly available information as the basis for writing a teaching case. Instructors will explain the elements of a teaching case and the role and importance of teaching notes as a critical and essential component of the case. Throughout the day, attendees will be able to work together in an interactive space where they can learn from each other. Registration for the workshop opens on 1 February 2012 and attendance is limited.

ecch is participating in this Professional Development Workshop that will take place at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting. The PDW will be focused on developing exceptional cases, ie cases that ‘sing in the classroom’ and creatively teaching cases, ie ‘orchestrating the choir’. The session will interactively involve participants in exploring critical aspects of exceptional teaching using case discussion pedagogical approaches. There will also be an opportunity to discuss next steps for participants' case ideas, cases in progress, and completed cases. Session participants will have opportunity to significantly enhance their case development and teaching skills. More info
